Of course it seems very simple recipe stewed cabbage but if you want beautiful, tasty dish I recommend trying to stew cabbage according to this recipe. I have been cooking like this for 2 years now and always with a bang, even children ask for more.
It is also a delicious, healthy, dietary and affordable side dish for any dish. I usually cook it as a side dish for grilled meat, for dinner.

Cabbage 1.5 kg medium
Bell pepper 1 PC
Onion 1 pc
Tomatoes 1 pc or 1-2 spoons canned tomato
2 tablespoons tomato paste for a brighter color, replace tomato paste with red pepper paste
Sunflower oil 3 tbsp
Salt and spices 1 tsp to taste

Finely chop the onion and pepper, lightly fry them in a deep frying pan with butter.


Then add the tomatoes in cubes (I have canned food).
Stir and leave to simmer for 2-3 minutes.


Then add tomato paste, a little paprika, if any.
Stir and leave for another 2-3 minutes.


Chop the cabbage but not very finely and add to the pan.
If there is a lot of cabbage, add in portions. The cabbage shrinks during the stewing process and you can add more.


Usually I add cabbage to the pan during the shredding process. While one run is stewing and sits down, I cut the next.


When all the cabbage has been added, mix well and cover.
Then, it is very important to simmer the cabbage over low heat and with a lid - this is how the cabbage gives juice and is steamed, you do not need to add water in the process.


Remove the lid and stir every 10 minutes - try not to do this more often, otherwise the cabbage will become porridge.


For about 25-30 minutes, the cabbage should be ready, if necessary, keep it still under the lid until tender.
Add salt, pepper and other spices to taste.
Turn off the heat and leave covered for another 10 minutes for the cabbage to come through well.
