The last time I visited Touché was last year. Then I got there by accident. I was wandering around the courtyard of the former Trekhgornaya manufactory and came across a pleasant, solid wine bar with interesting food. Touché came to mind this year when I was exploring another winery called Litro. It turned out that these two points have the same owners. Since Litro instantly captivated me with its laid-back seriousness and creative approach to gastronomy and wine, I decided to pay a visit to his older brother.

At lunchtime, Touché greeted me with a red façade with black accents and a row of conifers. There was still a café and a grocery store behind the glass door. There is a crush in the shop, silence in the cafe. In daylight, the room looked different. The loft style, red brick, white brick, bottles under the ceiling, shabby wood around the perimeter and motley furniture remained unchanged, but in the rays of the sun they played in a different way, more lively and warm colors appeared in them. In the open kitchen, like last time, work was in full swing, and this despite the minimum workload.

The menu is still small and unusual. The names are strange, but the descriptions are quite voluminous and fully convey the essence of the chef's ideas. The food looked very nice, but there were problems with the taste, although there were obvious successes.

“Sea bass ceviche with mango sauce” looked interesting, bright, but the fish turned out to be warm, there were too many onions, and it was so aggressive that even the desired spiciness from the sauce could not cope with it. "Trout Gravalax with Quinoa Tabbouleh" - appearance appetizing, spicy yogurt - excellent, moderately sour, moderately creamy, tabouleh, which was very reminiscent of millet, had a rich taste, without dryness, without lumps and freshness, but the trout was empty, tasteless and, like a guilty tomboy, hid behind other elements dishes. But "Baked cauliflower with homemade ricotta" did not disappoint. A year ago it was served with stracciatella and the combination didn't work. This time the combination worked with a bang. Cabbage is a star and a prima donna, the rest of the ingredients are servants, but the servants are of high quality, conscientious. "Beef tartare" disappointingly did not reach a good mark. The meat is of high quality, the cut is correct, the view is fascinating and appetizing, but only acid and onion were caught in the taste. "Burger from minced beef on a potato bun" with french fries arrived cut and fried. Outwardly, the cutlet was dense, homogeneous mass, frightening with its dullness. But as soon as you tried it, the whole taste palette hit the receptors, hit without hesitation, from all the guns, leaving nothing in reserve. Meat is juicy meat taste tangible. The bun is tasty, the right size and with the right crust, it kept the sauce in itself, and did not let the meat juice out. Additional ingredients accompanied the cutlet like professionals. And what there were pickled cucumbers! These are not cucumbers, this is a product culinary arts! French fries did not let us down either - lively, crispy on the outside, soft inside, with cheese crumbs and golden crust. And everything would be fine, and one could rejoice and clap their hands at the next gastronomic progress, but “Beef rib with puree” arrived at the table, which was cut up in the kitchen and laid in small slices on a bare, weathered bone. The meat was tough, dry and at the same time too fatty, I don’t know how this could have happened, but it did. And the mashed potatoes generally settled down on a plate with one large white washer, which could be lifted entirely and turned over. The taste of the potato mug was somehow artificial, repulsive, plastic. Sadness and slight disappointment smoothly flowed into dessert, namely, “Donuts with Tiramisu Cream”. There are no complaints directly about donuts, funny guys, soft, fried, but they were spoiled by the filling. She had nothing to do with tiramisu. It felt only coffee, and ground, which gritted the teeth with sand.

The staff worked well. Everyone was extremely polite, professional and attentive. Appliances were changed, dishes were taken away, napkins were brought in, answers to my questions were ready.

This time, Touché not only missed the top five, but also sank one notch. It's a shame, but there's nothing to be done, now they are fed there for three points.
