Cherry puffs made from puff yeast dough. Cherry puff pastry puffs - very juicy and easy to prepare

A delicious dessert isn't necessarily a fancy cheesecake, panna cotta, or fondant. To pamper your family with something sweet, it is not at all necessary to cook something complex and intricate: after all, the most simple dishes can be surprisingly tasty.

Here, for example, puff pastry pies with cherries. It would seem, what could be more commonplace? Yet it is one of the favorite treats of most children and many adults. Preparing such pies is not difficult at all, but they will easily conquer both the heart and the stomach.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g puff yeast dough;
  • 300 g pitted cherries;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • 2-3 tablespoons of starch;
  • 1 yolk;
  • 1 tsp water;
  • icing sugar for dusting.

Preparation:

You can use both fresh and frozen cherries for this recipe. This time I was just cooking with the ones I had stored in the freezer for the winter. Such cherries must first be defrosted. Place the cherries in a colander placed on a bowl or saucepan and leave them at room temperature until completely thawed.

As for the test, it is of course better to use puff pastry cooked by yourself. But in our hasty age, there is not always time to cook it. In this case, ready-made puff pastry usually helps me out - it is sold in almost all stores, is relatively inexpensive, and it is a pleasure to cook with it. It also needs to be defrosted.

Lightly roll out the layer of thawed dough on a floured surface, moving the rolling pin in only one direction. The dough should not be very thin.

Cut the dough into rectangles about 8x10 cm in size.

Transfer the cherries to a dry bowl, add the starch.

Mix the cherries with starch.

Put cherries in the middle of each piece of dough - along the piece of dough. We put so many cherries so that it is convenient to mold the pie. If you add a lot of cherries, the pie may burst during baking.

Sprinkle a little sugar on top of the cherries - to your liking, trying not to fall on the edge of the dough.

And quickly fold the oblong pie - we connect the long edges and carefully fasten them. Then we wrap the edges.

Put the pies on a baking sheet with the seam down. We pre-cover the baking sheet baking paper or a silicone mat.

Combine the yolk with water or milk and beat slightly with a fork. Grease the top of the pies with yolk.

We bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees, for about 20-30 minutes, until golden brown.

How to make premade puff pastry puff pastry stuffed with frozen cherries

Before starting the head, you must defrost all the main ingredients of the puffs - dough and cherries. Sprinkle the dough with flour and put it on a cutting board. At room temperature, it will defrost in about 40-60 minutes. The cherries should be transferred to a bowl or colander and left to thaw completely. The juice released during defrosting must be drained - it is superfluous in puffs. Add sugar to the defrosted cherries, mix and leave for another 15-20 minutes. At the same time, a little juice will again stand out from the cherry, it also needs to be poured out, and the cherry is slightly squeezed with a spoon, trying not to deform the berries.

Add starch to the cherry, it will not allow the juice from the berry to flow out of the puffs when baking in the oven. Thanks to this, the dough will not turn out wet, and the filling will be very juicy and tender.

Gently roll out the thawed dough on a floured surface into a layer about 2-3 mm thick. Cut it into 6 identical rectangles. This is conveniently done with the round-bladed knife commonly used for slicing pizza.

Put the cherry filling in the middle of each rectangular blank.

Assemble the corners of the rectangle on top and blind them securely. The edges of the dough should be well fastened to each other, because puff pastry tends to expand greatly during baking, and the puffs can deform - "open up".

Grease the surface of the puffs with yolk, put them on a baking sheet and put in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake for 25-35 minutes, until light brown.

Cool the finished puffs on a wire rack, and then sprinkle icing sugar... You can put the kettle on or pour the compote and serve delicious cherry puffs to your sweet tooth.

The buns are airy and crispy, and the berry filling is juicy, moderately sweet and aromatic.
