Rice porridge with cherries recipe. Rice porridge with cherries

How to make plain rice porridge gourmet dish? Very simple! Cook it the classic way German recipe- with the addition of lemon zest, and complement all this beauty with cherry sauce. In principle, blackcurrants, raspberries, and strawberries are also great here.

You can even cook them all together or separately - as you like. I had a frozen cherry, carefully collected by my parents in the country last summer season (for which many thanks to them). Bones, yes. But that didn't stop me!

Serves 2 / prep 5 min / ready 25-35 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (about 125 g) white polished rice (short grain is better, but not essential)
  • 0.5 l milk (can be vegetable)
  • 3 drops vanilla essence
  • zest of half a lemon
  • 3 art. l. natural brown sugar or honey (or sweetener to taste - e.g. 3 sucralose tablets)
  • 1 cup pitted cherries (or currants/raspberries/strawberries)
  • 1 st. l. starch
  • A pinch of salt

Cooking:

  1. in a saucepan with non-stick coating bring milk to a boil, add 2 tbsp. l. sugar/honey (or sweetener) vanilla essence, salt and lemon zest. Add washed rice, bring to a boil again, let simmer over medium heat for a couple of minutes, then put on the most small fire and close the lid. While the rice is cooking, it is advisable not to open the lid, but still make sure that the milk does not boil away - you may have to rearrange the pan to a smaller burner. Leave the rice to cook until tender - about 25-30 minutes, depending on the rice chosen.
  2. In the meantime, in a small ladle, pour 3-4 tbsp berries. water and cover with the remaining sugar (honey), bring to a boil. Dilute starch in 1 tbsp. l. water and pour into a ladle, mix thoroughly, remove from heat.
  3. Serve in deep bowls, drizzle with cherry sauce, top with berries.

Ingredients:
