This article will show you how to make your own salted dough and how to dry it. A lot of photos and step-by-step instructions will help you mold a dough craft for any holiday.

For modeling lessons with young children, it is better to use salt dough or Play Dоh plasticine.

How to make craft dough: recipe

You can make the dough yourself, for this you only need a few simple ingredients: flour, fine salt, citric acid, vegetable oil and water.

First mix 1 cup flour with 0.5 cup salt and 2 teaspoons citric acid... Pour into a saucepan, add 1 tablespoon of oil to the dry mixture. Put on medium heat, gradually add water and stir. Water should leave no more than 0.5 cups. When the mass has lagged away from the sides of the pan and becomes one lump, remove the pan from the heat. Take out the mass, put it on a board sprinkled with flour, and, as regular dough, knead with your hands.

If you want to do colored dough for modeling, you first need to dilute dry food coloring in water. You can also already in ready dough add a little gouache and knead it well so that the color becomes uniform.

How to prepare salted modeling dough?

Make a salty dough. Paint it different colors, depending on what you want to dazzle. The dough can be made uncolored, divided into balls and in each add a little gouache of the desired color and knead. It is better to make the dough in regular colors, and then mix them to achieve the desired result.

Keep the dough in a bag, or wrap it in cling film, can be placed in a closed container to keep it from drying out. If it is dry, add a little water, and if it is too wet, add a little flour.

  1. Thin the dough and simply spread it on the base of the craft, so you can make butter on a piece of bread, or make brown dough chocolate icing for cake
  2. Try on the food you made with toy plates that you will play with later, so that they match in size
  3. Use a wet brush to stick the pieces of salt dough together. Smear the joint with a brush, and stick the pieces to each other.
  4. When sculpting food for dolls, it is very important to make the dough as much as possible in the same color as the original, for example, the carrots should be orange, not yellow or red
  5. To prevent the colors from fading, open the craft with varnish. For lessons with children, you need to use special harmless varnishes, they do not have an unpleasant odor, because they are made on a water basis

Drying figurines from salt dough for modeling

There are two ways to dry salt dough crafts.

  1. Air dry the crafts. It is best if you place them on a smooth surface and leave them on for a few days. When the craft is dry, turn it over or lay it on its side to dry on all sides
  2. Baking in the oven. Preheat the oven well, put baking paper on a baking sheet, spread the crafts on top, put in the oven and turn off the heat. The oven must be closed and not opened until completely dry. You can also bake crafts at a temperature of 100 ° C, but in this case, you need to watch them so that they do not burn

These two methods can be combined, for example, dry for an hour in the oven, then leave in the air, after a while still in the oven, and so on until it dries.

Of course, if the craft contains other decorations (beads, beads), you need to dry it in the first way.

We make chickens from disposable spoons, cotton pads, colored paper.

You can make the same funny bunnies:

We put clothespins on a plate, glue paper paws to them. Put chopped white paper at the bottom of the plate.

We make a plate with chicken in the same way. Difference: yellow paper and the size of the paws.

DIY gifts for Easter

There are a lot of ideas for gifts for Easter, you get tired of choosing. I would like to hope that our master classes will help you in your choice.

From paper

An Easter basket for the upcoming holiday can be made from the usual paper bag... Or beautiful wrapping paper, maybe you still have candy boxes. There are many options. In such an interesting basket, colorful Easter eggs or delicious delicacies will look original.

For work you will need:

  1. Paper.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Ruler.
  4. Thermal gun or regular paper glue.
  5. Pencil.

If you took a package for work, then you need to cut off the bottom of it. We cut the side. With a ruler and pencil, line the paper into strips 3 cm wide.

We bend all the strips in half along the entire length.

We begin to weave a basket from strips, as in the photo.

So that the details do not get confused, we glue the strips on the top of the basket, then we will cut it all off. We glue the handle and glue the top of the basket.

We will sculpt an interesting chicken stand for Easter eggs, as a gift. There are several recipes for making dough.

Wheat flour dough recipe:

  1. Flour - 2 cups.
  2. Exra salt - 1 glass.
  3. Cold water - 250 grams.
  4. Storage bag.
  5. 1 tbsp. a spoonful of sunflower oil.

Recipe for rye flour products:

  1. 3 cups (300 g) wheat flour.
  2. 1 cup (100 grams) rye flour
  3. 2 cups (400 g) fine salt
  4. 250 ml of water.

Rye flour gives the figurines a warm color to the bread. To prepare any dough, mix the flour and salt, then gradually pour in cold water and mix again. The degree of readiness of the dough can be determined as follows: if the dough stretches and sticks to your hands, then there is a lot of water in it. Therefore, you need to add more flour.

For work you will need:

  1. The dough is salty.
  2. Stack.
  3. Peeler.
  4. Toothpick.
  5. Manicure file.
  6. Black peppercorns.
  7. Paints, brush.
  8. The varnish is transparent.
  9. Garlic press.

Roll out a cake 0.5-0.7 cm thick, this will be the chicken's nest itself. We make the sides of the nest with a garlic press. We make a "straw", wetting it with water.

We leave the work for 1 day to dry, so that the dough will keep its shape well in the future. We start sculpting the chicken. We sculpt the blank of the body. We need the chicken as a stand for the egg, which means we must make a depression for the Easter egg. We take a round shape, make a notch, sculpt the chicken breast and neck. With a vegetable peeler we make plumage on the breast.

We insert a toothpick into the chicken's neck, leave 1.5 cm.Connect the nest and the chicken's body. We roll out the dough, make wing blanks 1 cm thick. Draw the plumage with a vegetable peeler, attach it to the body of the chicken, moistening it with water.

Next, our task is to make the chicken a beautiful tail. We take an oval flat cake with a thickness of 0.7-1 cm as a basis. We make the plumage with a vegetable cutter. Cut off the edges of the tail with a knife to resemble a feather pattern. We make the cuts neat, smoothing them with your fingers. Attach the tail to the body of the chicken. Place something under your tail, such as a ball or an apple. After the product dries up, remove the apple.

Roll up a round head ball. We decorate the scallop, with fingers and a stack, giving it the desired look.

To make the eyes, you need to outline their place. We make a stack of dents for the eyes. Next, we make dents with a vegetable peeler so that the eye becomes curly.

Insert a pea of pepper instead of the pupil. We make a beak and sculpt it to the head.

We fasten the head and torso, putting the head on a toothpick. We attach a small strip of dough to stabilize the head. Decorate the chicken neck with dough feathers. You can make a chicken "earrings" from pieces of dough.

We sculpt chickens in the same way. Do not forget to wet the parts for better fastening.

We leave the product to dry for 1-2 days, putting them in a distant place, you can even on the closet. In a day or two, when the chickens and chicken harden, we finally complete the work: we plant the figures on leaves, moistening the middle with water. Leave in the air for 1-2 days. We dry the products first in the air, and then put them in the oven with a temperature of 50 degrees for 1 hour. After drying, paint with paints and cover with colorless varnish.

Another option: figurines from dough: we sculpt Easter bunnies, chickens, chickens. You can make fridge magnets out of them, or you can hang them on pussy willow branches.

Most quick option gift - multi-colored paper napkins and ribbons. We twist the boiled egg into a napkin and tie it with a ribbon. Can be replaced with corrugated paper.

You can crochet such a funny interesting Easter chicken.

For work you will need:

  1. Yellow yarn, 100% cotton or 50/50,
  2. A bit of orange and white yarn.
  3. Hook number 3.

We start knitting from the body. First 7 rows:

1st - 8 RLS knit in a loop with amigurs
2nd - we knit in each loop 2 RLS (16 RLS)
3rd - 1 sc, 2 sc, and so on (24 sc)

  • For work you will need:

    • The beads are different (the colors are indicated next to the diagrams).
    • 2 meters of thin fishing line or nylon thread.
    • 2 beading needles.

    We start weaving from the central row from number 1 to number 2, then we perform each part separately at different ends of the line, use the table.

    In the egg weaving pattern, note the double rows (12 and 13 at the top, 13 and 14 at the bottom). At the chicken-shaped keychain in the upper part, we first weave the right wing (numbers from 5 to 9), and then the left one (numbers from 10 to 16). Next, we move on to the design of the head (numbers 17 to 40).

    What can be Easter without Easter cake, Easter eggs, souvenirs and angels? These original Easter angels can be made with your own hands from ordinary pasta. There can be any pasta: stars, horns, spirals, noodles. These angels can be hung on a willow twig or placed in an Easter basket.

    For work you will need:

  1. Pasta.
  2. Ribbons or sticks.
  3. Thermal gun or glue Moment.
  4. PVA glue.
  5. Balls from salt dough.

Using a glue gun, connect the head (dough ball) to the body. Next, glue the ribbon on the back. Select the pasta wings and glue on top of the braid.

Densely spread the angel's head with PVA glue and put it in fine vermicelli or asterisks. This is the "hair" of an angel.

Use delicate pasta for your hands. Apply glue thickly on the sides, near the wings and glue.

We paint either with a simple golden paint or aerosol.

If you want to insert them into an Easter basket, insert a stick inside the pasta body and glue, the crafts are ready.

Salted dough

On our site you can see a lot of different crafts created on the basis of salt dough.

Here one of the recipes, for the manufacture of salt dough:

1Mix a glass of flour and 1 glass of salt.

Then pour in 125 ml of water(the volume is approximate, since the amount of water may depend on the type of flour you took for the dough). Stir this mass again with a spoon, and then knead with your hands until smooth. Some people use a mixer for this purpose.

By the way, water can be replaced with jelly made from potato starch(1 tablespoon of starch dissolve in 1/2 cup cold water... Then pour into this liquid, stirring another 1 glass of boiled water. When the jelly thickens and becomes transparent, remove from heat. got a paste). From such a replacement, the dough will only benefit - it becomes more plastic.

Just don't overdo it! If the dough is too soft, knead it with a little extra flour and salt mixture. Salty dough should be dense.

Now you can sculpt! Better to sculpt on a pan or board - this is a good place to dry. Drying itself is carried out at a temperature of + 80C in the oven, for an hour, or on a battery (in winter). The drying time depends on the thickness of the figurine.

If you need colored salty dough , then it can be dyed either at the kneading stage, using food coloring or gouache, which is convenient when working with young children; or paint the finished product after complete drying.

And our craftswomen have their own subtleties and secrets for working with salted dough. That's why , go to the blog , whose work you liked and ask! I am sure the craftswomen will gladly share with you!

P.S. Memo on how to make the required color:

blue = blue + white

pink = white + red

purple = blue + pink

green = blue + yellow

orange = yellow + red

brown = green + red

emerald = green + blue

flesh = light pink + a little yellow

gold and silver will turn out if you add the appropriate color of gouache or acrylic, in the same way you can get dough with sequins(gouache gel)

When working with salted dough many come up with amazingly beautiful names - testoplasty , bioceramics and even, flour ! But whatever you call it - the result, at times, exceeds all our expectations! The birth of a salt dough masterpiece is always an event! Successful creativity and pacification to all!

Easter

Master Class

Master Class (MK) - This is the transfer of his professional experience by the master (teacher), his consistent verified actions leading to a predetermined result.

To publish a master class, the work must be author's (invented and done by you). If you used someone else's idea, you must indicate the author. (The link to the source should not lead to a site containing the sale of goods or services, since links to commercial sites are prohibited in accordance with clause 2.4. PS).

Your master class should not completely duplicate the one already available in the Land of Masters. Before publishing, check through the search that there are no similar MKs on the site.

The process should be photographed step by step (see Tips for taking pictures of crafts) or filmed (see how to upload a video).

The order of registration: the first photo - finished work, which is proposed to be completed, the second photo - materials and tools necessary for work (or their detailed description), then the MC stages from the first to the last. The final photo (the result of the work) can repeat the very first one. Photos should be accompanied by clear and competent comments on the process.

If you have already published your MK on another site and you also want to publish it with us, then you need to follow all the rules for designing an MK described above. In other words: in an entry with an MK type, you cannot just put a photo of the finished product and a link to a master class on another website.

Attention: all master classes in the Land of Masters are checked by site assistants. If the requirements of the Master Class section are not met, the type of entry will be changed. If the User Agreement of the site is violated, for example, copyright is violated, the record will be removed from publication.

I bring to your attention Easter crafts dough plastic mug... I have been doing circle work for the second year. Children like classes and attend the circle with pleasure. For sculpting I use salted dough and food coloring... Recipe salt dough varied but basis test(flour, salt, water) in equal proportions, sometimes for plasticity I add a little vegetable oil for the strength of wallpaper glue, it all depends on what we want to blind. I use a lot of additional materials in my work (beads, shells, pasta, confetti, beads, seeds and much more.

Stand for easter egg... In my work, I used three dough flowers(orange, pink, green).We take the orange dough roll the ball and flatten it between the palms with a stack, form a circle in the middle of the circle, crush it under the egg. From green sculpt the dough(we roll up the kobaska, flatten it with a stack, draw the veins).Pink flower dough, berries. We moisten the stand with water and lay out the leaves and berries.

Easter egg and bunny.

In this work, you can take dough of different colors... This work is simple to perform, I offered the children extrusion molds (egg, bunny, confetti, and beads).
