To prepare colored smoke smoke at home, we need:

Ammonium nitrate (ammonium nitrate) can be purchased at any garden store. The price is 30-50 rubles per 1 kg. It looks like a white crystalline powder. Refers to fertilization. In some countries, ammonium nitrate is banned even in view of fertilization, as it is used in the creation of explosives. And summer residents buy it in bags. If you can't take potassium nitrate, it's almost the same.

We create a solution. We dilute the saltpeter in warm water. 300 grams per 1 liter.

We take a liter plastic bottle... Pour a third of the bottle with ammonium nitrate.

Fill it all up cold water and wait until the saltpeter dissolves in the input. The water reacts with nitrate and the temperature of the water decreases. The bottle will turn cold. And the foam that has arisen must be removed. This solution is enough for 40 newspaper sheets. (These are 4 smoke bombs)

Now we need to spray the newspapers with this solution. I need a sprayer. We put a sprayer on the neck of the bottle for ironing clothes or spraying plants.

We spread the newspaper sheet on the floor. Away from furniture and clothing. The best place is somewhere on the street or in the garage. Better not to breathe in pairs. Better not to breathe them at all. And evenly spray the newspaper sheet with a solution.

Put a new layer of newspaper sheet on top of the sheet, press down and spray a new sheet again. And so on, we repeat the process 8 times. That is, our smoke bomb will be from 10 layers of newspaper.

Once all the layers are done. We turn over our stuck together newspapers so that everything is completely saturated.

We start to create a smoke bomb.

We take one impregnated sheet. We put it vertically (vertically, for example, like a phone screen) and bend it in half.

Now we begin to roll this sheet very tightly into a tube until the middle of the sheet. And on this sheet we put a new sheet and then we twist it tightly to the middle, again the sheet, we twist it to the middle, and so on until all the sheets run out.

When finished, wrap the smoke bomb with duct tape. And tamp around the edges

So that the smoke bomb does not burn out immediately, it needs a metal case. An aluminum beer can is ideal.

Carefully cut off the lid of the jar and completely cut off the bottom. If our smoke bomb dangles inside the can, you can wrap it with an additional layer of paper or newspaper to keep everything tight.

Instructions

We take about 50 g of potassium and the same amount of sugar, mix them together. Pour the resulting mixture into a metal container, put on. The mixture must be constantly stirred. Gradually the sugar turns into caramel. While it thickens, you can use matchboxes.

By this time, the mixture begins to boil, it must be constantly stirred so that it does not burn. During the cooking process, it will gradually thicken. When the mixture reaches the consistency of plasticine, reduce the flame of the stove by half, wait for the sugar to turn brown.

After the mixture has taken on a dark color, remove it from heat. We take a teaspoon of baking soda (without a tubercle), pour it into our mixture. And immediately we begin to stir quickly to knock down the foam that begins to form. It is necessary to stir until a homogeneous mass is formed. In consistency, it should resemble plasticine.

After the mixture has cooled down, you need to wrap the boxes with vinyl tape as tightly as possible. The winding should be done in such a way that in the end you get it so that a small section of the mixture looks out from under it. This will be exactly where the base of the box was cut.

The smoke bomb is ready. Now you need to set it on fire in the place where the prepared mixture protrudes, put it on any hard, non-combustible surface and enjoy the smoke show.

Although the mixture is hot, you can touch it with your hands, it is not poisonous, just
after the performed manipulations, wash your hands thoroughly.

Do not light a smoke bomb at home or in any enclosed area, as
combustion emits smoke with a pungent odor.

Useful advice

If the mixture is too hot before adding the soda, then there will be too much foam, you need to let the mixture cool slightly.
At the same time, it should not be allowed to cool the received homogeneous mass after adding soda, you must immediately spread it out in matchboxes or other pre-prepared forms.
You need to fill the matchboxes tightly so that voids do not form in them.

Remove dry ice from refrigerator. It is needed for an experience that is available to absolutely everyone and, moreover, is completely safe. Pour the most ordinary tap water into a glass. Better, of course, to use distilled, but it may not always be at hand. Place a piece of ice in the water. White smoke will tumble down immediately and very intensely. In this case, it is water vapor.

Experiments with berthollet's salt are best done outdoors. To display these indoors, you need a good fume hood. Take ammonia, naphthalene, berthollet's salt and charcoal in a ratio of 5: 2: 2: 1 and light it. It will not burn itself. You will end up with thick white smoke without fire. It smells rather unpleasant.

On the other hand, it is criminal to discount the negligence with which manufacturers approach the creation and sale of liquid smoke. The imperfection of the law that regulates the content of carcinogens in this fragrance has led to the widespread distribution of counterfeits and harmful products.

So, you need to be extremely careful when buying or preparing liquid smoke in any form, otherwise the consequences will not be long in coming.

How to smoke lard (using liquid smoke)

You need it, but you don't have the Liquid Smoke fragrance at hand? It doesn't matter, everyone can cook it with their own hands.

We consider it necessary to immediately draw your attention to the fact that you will hardly be able to create a real liquid smoke, identical to the flavoring agent prepared in an industrial way.

It is not an easy task to build an installation in which the smoke from burning hardwood sawdust is pumped into a condenser, cooled in it and turned into a liquid, purified by special filters from tar, resins and carcinogens.

It is much easier to prepare a flavoring agent from existing products, choosing their ratio in such a way that the taste and aroma of a dish treated with homemade liquid smoke does not differ in any way from the results of cooking using a factory flavor.

Matches and foil

To prepare liquid smoke using foil and matches, you need a regular glass cup that is well chilled in the freezer. It would be more correct to say - frozen in the freezer.

Cut out a square with sides of 12-15 cm from food foil, fold 10 matches into a bundle with heads on one side, put them in foil, and then roll it tightly into a tube.

Tighten the end of the tube from the side of the match heads, leave the other unchanged.

Place the foil tube in the glass so that its twisted end is outside the glass, and the other just barely touches the side wall, but does not contact the bottom. The most convenient way to do this is to build a kind of laboratory tripod out of copper wire.

Bring the flame to the outside end of the tube. When the heads of the matches ignite inside the tube from the high temperature, the fire can be removed. From the lower end of the tube, smoke from burning matches will begin to flow into the glass.

Coming into contact with the cold walls of the glass, the smoke turns into condensation and begins to collect at the bottom of the glass in the form of a liquid.

By repeating the described procedure several times, replacing old glasses with "freshly frozen" ones, you can prepare a sufficient amount of liquid smoke for cooking dishes.

Rice, tea and sugar

The method described below gives the product a flavor and aroma identical to that which would be obtained if real liquid smoke were used.

Wrap a tablespoon of black or green tea, two tablespoons of rice, and a teaspoon in cling foil. Be sure to make several holes in the bag with a fork.

Place the cooked bag on a baking sheet, place the meat on top, and then send the baking sheet to the oven. The smoke escaping from the holes in the bag during baking will give the meat a smoked flavor and aroma.

Curry, mayonnaise and garlic

Finely chop the head of garlic and add a packet of curry and a bag of mayonnaise to it. Mix thoroughly.

Pour the cooked marinade over meat or fish and leave for 3-4 hours. After that, the products can be cooked.

Taste qualities ready meal will be as if it was cooked in smoke.
