The base of the cake is made of foam circles. The diameter of the lower circle is 38 cm, the height (thickness) of the foam is 12 cm. The foam is cut with a breadboard knife. Our circles are cut from polystyrene foam that was used for packaging for household appliances; it comes with all kinds of grooves, so our circles are all patched, but that's okay. The main thing is to eventually align the end pieces.

So, three layers of the cake have been cut out.

We glue each blank separately with white fleece. Foam glue "Master-glue" or "Titinic".

We glue the layers of the cake together. For reliability, we pierce through all three layers of foam plastic with wire (photo on the left); bend the wire on top and on the bottom of the cake. We glue the bottom with a beige material such as foamiran, thin foamy plastic. We leave the structure under pressure.

For the decoration of the cake, a sand-colored anti-slip rug was purchased. We cut the rug into wide strips and paste over the end parts of the cake with them. It is more convenient to smear glue directly on the rug. Glue the strips end-to-end.

We figure out where to place the main cake decoration - small roses. We took the roses from hair bands made in China; the material from which the roses are made is also some kind of foamy flexible plastic such as foamiran. The decoration on the top of the cake is a ready-made wedding flower made of fabric, framed with feathers and pearl beads. To this flower, we added petals from our anti-slip rug, and the flower itself, along with the feathers, were covered with a layer of PVA glue for rigidity.


Inspired by the resulting beauty, we continue to make the most enjoyable part of all the handwork - the finishing touches of the decor.
On the upper edge of the "cakes" we glue the white and gold guipure lace, pre-assembled on a thread. We cut narrow strips from the rug and glue the line of the joint between the "cake layers" and lace, glue decorative elements as your imagination tells you.

Cover the joints of the cakes with a gold cord (glue). We glue the roses too.

Notice how great white fleece does its job as a protein cream!

Spray the finished fake cake abundantly with aerosol acrylic varnish.
